You will learn about the process of problem solving and the action of decision making, including decision-making styles and techniques. You will also be able to identify solutions to common challenges. We will work through a real-life example from your life to illustrate these concepts.

You will learn how to create, and maintain, a strong, effective team, enthusiastic about achieving their goals. You will practice overcoming common team dynamic disturbances. You will gain the tools necessary to guide your team through the team development process.

Most importantly, you will learn that conflict is not bad - it can be very helpful. We will discuss the difference between healthy and unhealthy conflict and practice strategies to work through disagreements. My 2 main takeaways from this course are: assume the best intent, and, focus on interests not positions.

We will discuss the 6-step communication process and develop a common understanding of the purpose of communication. You will learn tips to help foster positive communication and will practice active listening, nonverbal communication, avoiding communication pitfalls, and cultural sensitivity.

You will learn about this user-centered way of seeing the world by working through a real-life problem. In my case that problem was repeatedly misplacing my water bottle. We discuss how to empathize, define, ideate, prototype, and test our solutions.

Learn how to develop a successful gig by working through your own idea. We discuss gig selection, legal implications, origin stories, platforms, portfolios, finances, taxes, and we complete a $5 resource challenge.
